Vice President, Field Operations

John is vice president of field operations at Adolfson & Peterson Construction. In this role, he oversees all field operations and leads efforts to provide training to support the continuous growth of AP’s field staff. He believes in continuously implementing global improvements to provide the best in capabilities for job site operations.
John’s nearly 30-year tenure with AP began in the field when he was an 18-year-old laborer. He worked his way up from there to foreman, assistant superintendent, superintendent and later to general superintendent.
John completed a carpentry apprenticeship through the Construction Industry Training Council. He holds a number of certifications, including a LEED Accredited Professional through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a safety trained supervisor for construction through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and a certification in healthcare construction through the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE). John is also trained in Construction Quality Management for Contractors through the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and is a member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Executive Leadership Academy.
In 2012, John was honored with a Top 20 under 40 award by Engineering News Record.
John is an active leader in the community. He is a long-time member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce where he served as board chair (2012/2013). He has held board leadership roles with the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, Metro Denver Aviation Coalition, National Sports Center for the Disabled, and Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation. He currently serves the Downtown Denver Partnership, City Year Denver, Littleton Hospital Foundation, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes in board roles.
